Culture + Comms

About

I’ve always been a little obsessed with storytelling. Through early forays into art, dance, music, and writing, I explored how different mediums tell narratives — how a deliberate punctuation mark, hand gesture, or prolonged note communicate so much. When studying art history at NYU, I realized that too was all about story. Not just the stories depicted on canvas, but of how those works were made in the first place. What better visualization of how power and resources flow through the world? What better record of a culture’s (and subcultures’) priorities, tastes, loves, fears, and dreams?

That love for story is what drives my work in mission-driven organizations. For me, communications is providing a way into the work. It’s creating a compelling opportunity for the casual observer or expert to engage. It’s guiding an organization to be welcoming, inclusive, thought-provoking, and joyful for all.

With 15+ years working in communications, I’m well-versed in tried-and-true tactics like striking multichannel advertising campaigns, beautiful print collateral, and collaborative cross-promotional campaigns. I’ve also steered unconventional partnerships resulting in jaw-dropping public art activations, unusual events, and even playful temporary tattoos.
